The Por La Gente Association strives towards promoting athletics and recreation within the Latino community in the City of Racine. It is in the spirit of this goal that we present our 28th annual basketball invitational.

The tournament will be based on the number of teams who will be invited to participate in a double elimination format tournament. Play will be in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the City of Racine Park and Recreation Department.

Tournament dates are scheduled for Friday, April 13 through Sunday, April 15, 2012.

All games will be played at Sturtevant Sports Plex located on 101116 Stellar Ave, Sturtevant, WI 53177 (across from the Marcus Renaissance Theatre off HWY 20).

Teams not on the floor within ten (10) minutes after the scheduled time of play will forfeit the first quarter by the score of 15-0, and if not ready to play as the second quarter starts, will forfeit the game and the entire tournament.

Liability Waiver: All players play at their own risk. Por La Gente Association will not be held responsible for any injuries that may occur to any player(s) as a result of participating in this event.

Carry-Ins of Food and Beverages is PROHIBITED!

Prizes and Awards: 1st Place winners will receive a team trophy and 10 championship T-shirts. 2nd and 3rd place will receive a team trophy. In addition, a tournament Most Valuable Player and All Por La Gente Tournament Team will be selected.

Managers: I agree to pay the tournament entry fee of $125.00 and will mail my entry form to Juan Martinez; 4505 Appletree Circle Racine WI 53405 postmarked by Sunday, April 1, 2012. In doing so, my team members and I agree to follow all the rules set forth by the Tournament committee. I am also responsible for informing my team members of these rules. I am aware that these rules stipulate that unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and my team, along with our fans will extend common courtesy to everyone involved in this event. I also realize that if tournament officials eject any of our players from the game, they will not only be ejected from the tournament, but they must also leave the premises.Tournament DRAWING DATE is Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 6 pm at the Sports Plex, 10116 Stellar Ave, Sturtevant WI 53177.

*An admission fee of $4 for adults and $2 for children under 15. Admission fees apply per day and  will be required for everyone except players in the tournament. Alcoholic beverages and all other carry-ins are not permitted at the tournament site. The facility has a concession stand available for purchases. Please remember you are a representative of the Latino Community.

All players MUST BE LATINO (defined as one of the parents being of Latino heritage).IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO IMMEDIATELY PROVIDE PROPER IDENTIFICATION UPON REQUEST such as a valid Drivers License and/or Birth Certificate in the event to settle a protest. Protests involving illegal players may be filed only prior to or during the game.

All players must wear a numbered shirt or lease a set from the Por La Gente Association. Teams are limited to the TEN (10) players listed below:
