Marisella Wood

President

Marisella has been connected with Por La Gente her entire life, first volunteering at tournaments as a young child, then as a participant and more recently as a Board Member. She joined the Board of Directors over six years ago to use her strengths as an organizer, strategist, maximizer and developer to help the organization grow. She especially enjoys the softball tournament and Trivia Nights.

Tiara Martinez

Vice President

Tiara has been part of Por La Gente for over 8 years, serving as a Board Member, Treasurer and now Vice President. She wants to make a difference in the lives of young people and support the Latinx community. She truly enjoys attending and helping out at PLG events. She loves the fact that proceeds benefit our annual scholarship program and community initiatives.

Carmen Rio

Treasurer

Carmen believes in giving back to the community that raised her. A recipient of a PLG Scholarship in 2004, she joined the Board of Directors over three years ago. She enjoys participating in the Scholarship Committee and volunteering at the Dia De Los Muertos celebration, bringing together families and the larger community. Being part of Por La Gente gives her great joy and purpose

Stacey Malacara-Flynn

Secretary

Stacey has been involved in volunteering with Por La Gente her entire life and has served on the Board of Directors for over 15 years. She joined because she wants to continue the traditions PLG’s founders envisioned and help the organization grow. Her favorite Por La Gente event is the softball tournament because it feels like a family reunion: the food, the music, the people.
